These people want there to be lower art, and fewer people with whom to compete, so they look better.
They can’t actually make better art, they’ve held me hostage to write, and they want there to be fewer people out there in Australia, and in Britain, and they want art to not be as good …so their art is the one that is focused on, and that’s what they’ve tried to do in Australia.
Fewer people who are friends with people, instead of the best person, and the best art doesn’t have to win, it just has to be the most heavily promoted art, with the best producers, and the best marketers, and the best media, and the best journalist friends and the best PR stories.

They won’t put in the time committed to become Olympic level, but they buy and manoeuvre for the vestige of it.
