The Rhyme of the Ancient Soul

By Kimberley Pearson

Are you trying to win the world

Young soul

Are you trying to be viewed as beautiful

Young soul

What do you think is spiritual

Young soul

Is it to win the world and be beautiful

Is that what you want your spiritual contract to be?

Do you want this world to want you and to love you?

Tell me

Where does it say that in the Bible?

Does it say to be worshipped and beautiful

Oh, is this the first time for you

Never a god or goddess born before

Covered in gold leaf, gold dust, like a statue

Days of yore, days of ancient souls

When you return to heaven

Will the powers that be ask you to take a new role, in which you can exploit people again?

Young soul

For whom the bell tolls

Tell me young soul what can you know

Of old souls

And days of yore

Will they look for souls who look better than anyone else

Who try to primp and preen to be worshipped

They cover themselves in diamonds and gold

And are hailed as gods on earth

Look the young souls say

Look at them they are getting ahead of me

No one can outdo me

I am a lover of self and I need people to love me

Will the powers that be

The great counsel

Will they look for young souls on training wheels

For new lives so they can look better than everyone else

Tell me

Will they seek themselves again

Selfishly

Bring every bit of self to me

Will they seek more money, more fame, more love from people

Will it be a life for lovers of self

All the young souls love themselves

They haven’t seen their own reflection before

Perhaps they will need a fainting couch

A dramatic exclamation of unfairness

They love to be the center of attention

Will they enjoy self-worship?

Will they want people to think of them as a main attraction

Look at the new arts in sex that you invented

To the wild days of old, you pale in comparison

Tell me what you have taught the old souls

Have you invented something new under the sun?

What is new?

What can you teach the old souls?

Were you there at the parties?

Revelling

Without religion

About what do you boast

Was there a feast that you weren’t a part of

Now being with one partner is the just the thing

What of the arranged dalliances

The dances lit by moonlight

When you have done

Everything under the sun

When you have outlived everyone

Find something of meaning to do

That is not all about you

Have you had a harem following you

Did you beckon a goddess to visit you?

Oh young soul, what folly for you

Can you tell wisdom from silly woman

The ancients know more than you do

The ease of tantra and the karma sutra

Don’t be fooled

There is nothing for you

There is no well here.

To drink from

Old wisdom is not for young men

On quests and pilgrimages

Of no spirit for the young souls

They can still count the moons of their existence

They don’t know the old constellations

It is written in the stars

The births of kings

The great events

You try to fulfill yourselves

Because you are attractive you are worshipped

But you feel empty don’t you?

That is the right way to feel

For a young soul to move to an old soul

The soul must do the right things

Agree to the right lessons

Yes, you have gained life

But not spirituality

How am I doing? ?

How am I doing?

They wonder ?

Some people wander the streets of old cities begging

For their next meal on spiritual quest

Not looking glamorous

Not being beautiful

Heads shaved for spirituality

Free of all vestiges

Wayed down by

Material things

Tell me

In your spiritual quest through sex

What have you done that has not been a dance in the desert ?

What new things have you invented for sex

Old souls knew every trick

They invented it

Young souls learn from them

Without tantra and spiritual energy

Look at them clamour for spiritual things

They think same sex lovers is just the risqué thing

What of Greece and Rome pray tell?

Oh just an invention of this century

You try to learn and think that everything you do is an old thing

Those from the days of yore yawn

When is the next dance in the desert ?

Look at the young souls drinking from pretty young souls

Who don’t know much at all

But how to thrust themselves out

In front of the world

Look at the folly of the young who think others are innocent

What new-fangled thing have you invented under the sun?

This world is a cornucopia of things to explore for the young soul

Young soul what can you teach us?
We laugh at your arrogance

Young soul, what can you teach us?

The young souls claim to be old in their sin

They consider sin to be wisdom

Not just for young souls who crave attention

They can’t be upper class

They don’t rule the world

They choose pretty over wisdom

Because they don’t choose a long game

They think they have something over everyone

Yoni to Lingam connection in heaven

Tell me young soul

Who do you presume to think you know from days of old?

Laughingly the old souls smile down on you as you are learning

Look at the young souls

They try to interrupt the spiritual path of the old

Whatever they set forth to do

Not for them but for the world

For life is not about them

That they learned long ago

Oh, look at the young soul

Can you see through their plans ?

Tell me what on earth could they be thinking?

Hair stands on end

This is not a song for religion

Spirituality has been developed over time

What of God in lands before Christendom?

Did we worship the constellations?

Who is to say that one path is right for all?

Rulers fall down prostrate before the Lord of all

What folly for those who don’t know yet what to do ?

Have they explored a new continent?

Are they still innocent?

Do they climb ancient walls?

Are they dancing in the desert for the first time?

The Great Counsel

Who are the ones bestowed with great gifts next time

Who are the hosts of heaven cheering on?

Who is chosen?

You be the first; I will be the last

I don’t need men to say I am beautiful

Or to tell me what my duty as a woman should be

Tell me young soul

What can you teach us?
